Comic Con Recap: Vikings!
Comic Con Recap: Vikings!

Let me start by saying, if you’re not watching Vikings on the History Channel, you should be.  It’s really good.  I mean really good.  It’s compelling, exciting, brutal, touching, and filled with, well, history.  One of the biggest draws to the show is how genuine the characters come across thanks to the incredible talents of the actors.  It’s no easy task to flesh out stories that are based in reality.  But this cast does so seemingly effortlessly.  The History Channel has hit on a really cool concept and ran with it.  Find the drama and personal stories in real life events.  And the fans have found it.  That was evident by the reception they received at Comic Con.

We start things off with Katheryn Winnick and Jessalyn Gilsig, who play Lagertha and Siggy.

Rockin' Comics @SDCC 2013 w Vikings Roundtable Lagertha & Siggy 0 00 18-24

They talk about their reception at Comic Con, the experience of portraying Vikings, the need for strong women on TV, and even their inner superhero.

Next up it’s Travis Fimmel, Ragnar, and Clive Standen, Rollo.

Rockin' Comics @SDCC 2013 w Vikings Roundtable Ragnar & Rollo 0 02 59-05

They talk about the reception the show has received, what it’s like learning about their Viking characters and their history, walking around in every day life looking like a Viking, and geeking out with the rest of Comic Con.
