Pearl Jam frontman Eddie Vedder made fans in Sweden cringe on Saturday after drinking wine out of a fan’s smelly sneaker.

The rockers were performing an acoustic set at Stockholm’s Friends Arena when one audience member hurled a red Converse shoe at the stage, hoping to catch the stars’ attention.

Vedder, who was seated at the time, spotted the footwear as it fell before him and cheekily declared, “I’m going to do you one better”, before picking up a bottle of wine at the side of the stage, pouring it into the shoe and drinking from it.

His bizarre antics drew cheers from the crowd as his bandmates laughed, before Vedder, who was wearing a Mickey Mouse T-shirt, tossed the sneaker back into the audience.
