Rosatis

On Tap is brought to you by Rosati’s Pizza, 701 S. Gregory, Urbana.

This week I picked up a hefeweizen because, well, we haven’t had one in a long time and I kind of dig hefeweizens.  And luckily, this one was from one of our new favorite breweries, Ale Asylum, Unshadowed.

I’ll be up front with this and just say I dig this beer.  Now, it could be that I haven’t had a hefeweizen in a while, but thing was really good.  It’s light, it’s pretty crisp, it’s refreshing.  There’s a lot of banana flavor as is pretty typical of this type of beer.  There’s also some wheat, and citrus, and even a bubblegum note here and there.  While this has an effervescent mouth feel, it’s still smooth and creamy.  There’s a bit of spice going on here as well.  This is a solid beer.

Now if you’re normally an amber/stout/darker beer kind of person, this will be pretty different, but I really recommend it.

Me:  8.3

DJ Squish: 7.89

Shane wasn’t in today, but we decided to pair this one up with Rosati’s Four Cheese Ravioli.  The cheesey goodness should pair really well with the smooth yet slightly sour nature of this hefeweizen.
