Rosatis

On Tap is brought to you by Rosati’s Pizza, 701 S. Gregory, Urbana.

Ryan and I were looking for something rather patriotic for our 4th of July On Tap and came up with Homefront IPA from Left Hand Brewing.  According to the bottle, this beer is aged over maple baseball bats.  Now that’s America.  Also, this Homefrong IPA is being brewed by a total of seven breweries, with a minimum of $150,000 being donated to Operation Homefront. This is a very cool hook, and, unfortunately, this is the thing that really sets this beer apart.  Taste wise, it’s just ok.  Squish and Shane hit it on the head when they said that the grapefruit was a bit overpowering, and they’re right.  But because it’s helping out such a good cause, that adde three points to our ratings:

Me: 7
Shane: 8
Squish: 8
Ryan: 7

Is this the best IPA you’ll ever have?  Nope.  Is it drinkable?  Yep.  Should you buy it?  Yep.  You’re helping out a great cause, and you’re drinking beer, so getting one ain’t gonna kill ya.

Shane brought in a bunch of great, good old fashioned, American eats:  Chicago Dog, Cheese Burger, and good old Fried Chicken.  If you haven’t had Rosati’s Fried Chicken, you really need to try it.  Outstanding.
