Schlafly Imperial Stout
Schlafly Imperial Stout

Rosatis

On Tap is brought to you by Rosati’s Pizza, 701 S. Gregory, Urbana.  328-2334.

This week, we took on Schlafly’s Imperial Stout.  And it’s a good one.  It’s got a beefy ABV at 10.2 % so get ready.  That high ABV gives it a warmth going down.  This beer is malty and semi sweet with some dark chocolate notes throughout.  The Imperial Stout has been bourbon barrel aged so there is some vanilla hints as well as a bit of spice.  This has enough hops to offset the sweet and overall comes off as a really solid Stout.

Shane’s Rating: 8

Ryan’s Rating:  8.5

My Rating:  7

All in all, solid beer.  Perfect for sharing.

Shane paired this up with the Chicken Alfredo from Rosati’s.  If you listen to the whole episode, Shane gives us a sneak peek of a new menu item that will debut in the Spring that came from the mind of our very own Ryan.
